A perfect way to relax and still feel you ate like a king! Make an ultimate charcuterie platter and watch it disappear in a hot second along with some easy-to-drink Bota Box RedVolution red wine.
I’m loving this chillier weather, mainly because living in California all it really means for me is a little extra cloud. If that’s not being weather-spoiled, I don’t know what is.
But my mind and taste buds definitely switch gears in the fall and I try to start making more comfort foods and simpler recipes, cooking in the kitchen when it’s dark outside isn’t much fun. The days of bright and fresh colored salads have been put to sleep until spring time.
Wine is one of those comfort foods for me, I know it’s a liquid and not a food but relaxing with a glass of Bot Box Cabernet or RedVolution is the perfect way to unwind.
I’ve always said that my last meal request would be a giant charcuterie platter full of meats, cheese, beef sticks, pickled things, heavy seeded crunchy crackers and some really chewy ciabatta bread.
A charcuterie platter is a great way to skip the cooking for a night and just relax, taste a wide assortment of flavors from around the world and appreciate the finer things in life.
It’s a chance to taste some snacks that you might not have everyday, my kids absolutely love it and will eat charcuterie for dinner at least once a month.
What am I drinking when I charcuterie? Bota Box RedVolution. Ever since becoming an ambassador for Bota Box, I’ve tasted all of their wines along with many friends and we all agree that the quality myth of box wine has long gone.
Bota Box wines are completely sealed from any outside air after every pour which means the wine stays fresher for longer.
I’ll be making this charcuterie platter at least twice in the coming holiday months. Thanksgiving dinner is usually on the later side of the day so this is perfect to serve around lunchtime for a light snack to keep the family going until it’s time for turkey.
Another perfect charcuterie time is on Halloween. We hit the neighborhood with the kids early, but I like to get back to my own porch in time to pass out candy to the older kids who are still trick or treating later.
Sitting on the porch with some charcuterie and a glass of Bota is as relaxing as it gets. Whatever you end up doing this holiday season, pour a glass, relax and have fun!
