I love waking up each day and finding out what National Day it is. There’s always something going on but mens health gets the whole month of June! That’s right up there with grilled cheese sandwiches who also get a month.
Coincidence, I think so. As much as I love a grilled cheese sandwich, I would sub it anyway for a BLT. The crispy lettuce and fresh tomatoes go perfectly with salty bacon and a slather of mayonnaise. Usually I’d use two slices of toasted sourdough but this time I tried these Hungry Girl Foldit Flatbreads. I built my sandwich with the rosemary and olive oil variety but they also come in whole wheat with flax and traditional white. They’re low in fat and able to throw you enough fiber your way so you can skip that tasteless bran muffin in the mornings.
l’m not sure if I was just extra hungry the day I made this sandwich or if I was testing the strength of the Foldit Flatbread, but I added a turkey burger…well maybe two. Lean and low in fat they were perfect and although they do look huge in these pics, this sandwich was really easy to handle without falling apart. I swear all of these flavors were meant to go together and my sandwich still came in at a decent amount of calories! Do you have a recipe for the turkey burgers?
Sorry Julana, I don’t
Dude this is a killer sandwich! Loving your version of a BLT!
Thanks Chris, it’s a manly sammie for sure :)
Thanks Tori, have an awesome day!
This looks insane! I’m so dying to try it!
Love this new way to sandwich – open on one end, closed on the other!
Perfection Patty ;)
There is a restaurant here in Salt Lake, Red Rock Brewery, that makes their hamburgers in pita bread. I can verify that this is an AWESOME way to eat a hamburger. I’ll have to watch out for those flatbreads and give this a go. It looks just wonderful with all the tomatoes and stuff exploding out. And I like that you can go at it from the front and not have everything dripping and sliding out the back. Good one!
Thanks Erin :)
What a killer BLT, love the turkey burger addition!
I just had to add them in Laura!!
Wow that’s a huge burger , I think I could only eat half of that! Looks so delicious though.
OMG those foldit flatbreads look so good, especially since they are so tiny, love that you used them on such a huge, tall burger loaded with bacon, I am totally in love with it.
This is one of those times when I wish I was a snake so I could unhinge my jaw to eat that bad boy!
True Chris,it was pretty big :)
