New York Bakery® Texas Toast with juicy tri-tip and fresh rosemary! This is one snack you have to make on the grill this summer!
New York Bakery Texas Toast Tri-Tip sandwiches. That's a whole lot of letter t's, but it describes these easy barbecue open faced sandwiches perfectly!
We all know how good the garlic, cheesy Texas Toast bread is but have you ever thought about throwing it on the grill? It takes minutes to cook and the smoky camp-fire taste you end up with is non comparable to oven baked breads.
Tri-Tip is an easy cut of meat to find here in California, but I hear It can be a bit more tricky to find in other parts of the country. It's perfect for the barbecue and after 20 minutes' grill time and resting for at least 10 minutes, the meat is ready to go!
I usually slice my tri-tip super thin. This makes these open-faced sandwiches so much easier to eat. Just because they're grilled, they don't have to be super chewy.
In fact, the thinner they are, the less you need to really bite into this tri-tip, it just melts in your mouth. You'll find authentic New York Bakery Texas Toast in the freezer section of your local grocery store.
Once your tri-tip is done and resting, just unwrap the toast and lay it on the hot grill with the cheese side facing up. After a few minutes check the bread and if it has some good grill char lines on the bottom, then it's ready to take off the heat.
Slice your tri-tip and lay a few slices on the warm Texas Toast, garnish with some chopped fresh rosemary and season with some sea salt and cracked black pepper.
You could serve these as an appetizer, or if you can manage to inhale three or four, we might have to call that an entree.
