Top reasons to make this apple cobbler

  • It's quick and easy to make
  • The brown sugar and butter cook together with the apples to create an amazing caramel sauce
  • Biscuit topping to soak up all of that sauce
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for the perfect comfort dessert
  • If you love apple pie, then you need to try this apple cobbler

Is apple cobbler different than apple crumble?

Both are warm fruit desserts, but a crumble is just like the name says. The topping is more like a streusel with a crumbly texture.

A cobbler is more like a dough mixture made with flour and buttermilk and dropped onto the fruit before baking.

What are the best apples to use for cobbler?

I'm a firm believer in always using Granny Smith apples for anything I might be baking. They're more tart and can hold up better to heat than most of the other apples which might turn soft after cooking.

How can I reheat leftover cobbler?

The microwave is always the fastest option, but if you really want to keep your apple cobbler as good as it was when it first came out of the oven, place it in a hot oven, uncovered for about 10 minutes.

Can I use unpeeled apple slices?

You can but the skin won't break down in the baking process, so you run the risk if finding chewy pieces of apple peel throughout the cobbler.

Am I able to freeze my apple cobbler?

I recommend not freezing it because the texture will change afterwards. If you're crunched for time, try making the cobbler the might before.

Just make sure it's cooled before covering it with a clean towel until you're ready to serve it.
