My inspiration came from many places for these double chocolate brownies. My daughters first Brownie- of the inedible variety- meeting was today and I was asked to make...you guessed it, brownies!
It made sense to me and I saw it as a chance to turn it into a blog post, winners all around. Now I could have just made these amazing trophy-win brownies, excuse me while I toot my own horn, but I wasn't looking for a recipe with frosting.
A quick search and I found these dark and gooey squares from Recipe Girl and knew these would be great for a base.
One thing I've learned since I started blogging is how important it is to try and stand out from the other 5 billion food blogs, so I try and make my posts as unique as I can. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.
It's really hard to create a brand new recipe from scratch but adapting one might make another blogger adapt yours and it just snowballs from there. Every day I look at food and wonder how I can change it.
I feel like this paragraph is just blah, blah, blah so lets get back to the brownies..stat!
Another piece of inspiration came from Trader Joe's chocolate dipped potato chips, If you haven't tried them you should! Just buy one bag because if you buy two, then you'll just eat both of them and be like, Damn you Gerry!
And I don't want my readers getting all mad at me. Sooooooooo, this is how I came up with adding chips into brownies, a long weird way but I did it and I like them.
I wish they were a little more salty but next time I'd probably add some nice chunks of sea salt on top.
If chips and brownies just want to make you heave, you should still use Recipe Girl's recipe. It's dense and moist and you might come up with something else to add to it.
I should add that I wasn't sure how the brownie troop would welcome brownies with potato chips so I made a regular batch for them and kept the chip brownies for myself! How do you guys find inspiration for posts?
