Rumor has it that when I was in high school I ate an entire pan of this sweet treat at my friend’s house.  His mother had just taken a fresh batch out of the oven and I ate one, then another, then the whole pan.

I will never confirm that rumor!

What I will confirm is that this Chocolate Chip Blondie treat is simple to prepare and it will go fast once it is out of the oven. 

Whether you eat them plain, with a little frosting, or even with some ice cream, you will love the light and chocolatey goodness of this dessert's tasty treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 11/4 cup Flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips
  • Vanilla Ice Cream (if desired)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Grease a 9×13 pan
  3. In a large saucepan, combine 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup butter, and 1/2 cup milk
  4. Heat just to boiling
  5. Cool to room temperature
  6. Pour butter mixture into a medium mixing bowl
  7. Beat 2 eggs into the butter mixture
  8. Add 1 1/4 cup flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  9. Beat well
  10. Spread in a 9×13 pan
  11. Sprinkle with 1 cup chocolate chips
  12. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and firm in the middle
  13. Eat plain or top with vanilla ice cream
