Sometimes you have to give the grill a break and explore other ways to cook, especially when the weather might not be in your favor. That's why I was happy when I was given the chance to try out a new 3 in 1 Combo Wave Oven from Breville!
The oven is around the same size as a conventional microwave oven but does so much more.
You can choose from multiple settings like Airfry, Oven, Grill or Microwave depending on what kind of food you choose to cook. So far I've used airfry and oven and both have performed really well.
I cooked these Crispy Chick'n Patties from Gardein using the airfry setting and they only took 10 minutes to come out crispy and hot. The perks I'm seeing to this oven for me personally is it's quick to preheat and also quick to cook.
I also love not having to turn on my main oven in the kitchen and wait for that to come to temperature. There's also minimal clean up involved as the oven only uses a small round tray where the food is placed and cleaning that is a breeze.
I can't wait to start experimenting with the other settings.
If you've never tried Gardein products you can find them in the frozen section of your local grocery store. There's a wide range of items available offering alternatives to beef, chicken, pork and fish.
I'm not a vegetarian but with the new wave of plant based products on the market, I definitly like trying new things that are exciting and new! Gardein products are made from soy, pea protein, ancient grains and vegetables.
They're also vegan and free from trans fats and saturated fats.
I made a simple sandwich with my Chick'n Patty and added a thick spread of mayo, crispy lettuce and tomatoes. I prefer using brioche buns just because they're usually softer and a little sweeter than regular burger buns.
This is a perfect recipe for anytime and especially good for game day eats. Other options could include adding some vegan cheese and bacon or bacon substitute for a club style sandwich.
