Toffee Bars

Delicious, sweet and chewy bars with toffee bits and chocolate chips.

  • 2 ⅔ cups all-purpose flour
  • cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½ sticks soft butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 12oz can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 ¾ cups crushed Heath toffee bits, divided


  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking with non stick spray or use butter to generously grease the pan.
  • In a large bowl, stir together the flour and brown sugar.
  • Add the butter and mix until the mixture becomes like crumbs.
  • Add egg and stir.
  • Add 1 ½ cups of the chocolate chips and the nuts and stir.
  • Reserve 1 ½ cups of the mixture for later.
  • Transfer the remaining mixture to the greased pan and pat evenly into a flat surface.
  • Bake for 10 minutes.
  • Pour the condensed milk over the part baked mixture in the pan and top with ½ cup of crushed toffee bits.
  • Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture over the toffee bits and add ½ cup chocolate chips.
  • Add the remaining ¼ cup of toffee bits.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes and let cool.
  • Slice into squares and serve.
