For The Topping

  • 3 tablespoons chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon all purpose flour

For The Muffins

  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup pecans chopped
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Pompeian OlivExtra Mediterranean blended Oil
  • 1/4 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons honey


  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a muffin pan with 9 muffin papers.
  • In a bowl, add the topping ingredients and crumble together with your fingers. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, spices, pecans and brown sugar and mix.
  • Combine the eggs, milk, pumpkin and honey and whisk until well mixed.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon just until it comes together.
  • Divide the batter evenly into the prepared muffin papers, until it's about level with the top.
  • Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes and golden brown on top.
  • Serve warm.
