best whisks

If you’re anything like I used to be, when a recipe calls for a whisk, you may dig around in the cupboards a bit trying to figure out “where you put that thing,” only to give up and just settle for using a fork. But believe me when I tell you, when you find the perfect whisk, you will ALWAYS know where you put it because you’ll use it all the time. While it might not be as flashy as a chef’s knife or shiny pot, it can help you whip up delicious, clump-free sauces or craft the fluffiest pancakes you’ll ever eat. But not all whisks are created equally. So, I’ll be sharing my whisk wisdom and reviewing three fantastic whisk options that you can add to your kitchen toolkit.

The NileHome Stainless Steel Whisk Set, featuring three polished whisks in varying sizes, provides practicality at a bargain, with rust-resistant, easy-to-clean stainless steel construction.

Material: Stainless Steel

They may not have all the fancy frills, but for practicality's sake and for everyday cooking, the NileHome Stainless Steel Whisk Set is a total bargain. You get three whisks in the pack: a 8", 10", and 12", all made from polished stainless steel. Having three for the price of one means whether you’re working in a spacious bowl or mixing up a little dipping sauce, you will have the ideal whisk for the job. They are also rust-resistant and generally pretty easy to clean. There isn’t as much risk of getting food stuck in the grooves. And there are handy little hooks to hang them up for easy access. But obviously, you can’t set expectations too high at this price, and they do feel slightly flimsy.

  • Made from stainless steel
  • Comes in 3 different sizes for versatile cooking
  • Holes on the handles for easy storage

Pros:

  • Budget-friendly
  • Easy to clean and store
  • Comfortable ergonomic handles

  • Might not be as long-lasting as pricier options
  • Some users find them a bit flimsy for heavy-duty tasks

Matfer Bourgeat Piano Whisk with Exoglass Handle

Made in France with unparalleled durability the Matfer Bourgeat whisk has a sturdy and meticulous design, with individually welded stainless steel wires set deep into the Exoglass handle.

Material: Stainless steel head and Exoglass handle

The Matfer Bourgeat Piano Whisk is the crème de la crème of whisks, so much so that you’ll want to give it a permanent home on your kitchen counter. The attention to detail in the construction really sets it apart from pretty much any other whisk I’ve seen. No more flimsy whisks because this is about as sturdy as they come. The stainless steel wires are heat-molded deep into the Exoglass handle, creating an airtight and watertight seal, which the company guarantees will give you years of flawless performance with no risk of the wires detaching over time. If you want to make whipped cream, this will definitely speed up the process. It’s also made in France and has a super functional rounded base with a lip, so it won’t slip into pots. I wish all whisks had that!

Features:

  • Individually welded wires set deep in the handle
  • Stainless steel wires and Exoglass handle
  • Heat resistant up to 430°F

Pros:

  • Made in France, known for culinary excellence
  • Exceptional versatility for a wide range of culinary tasks
  • Handle is airtight and watertight

Cons:

  • If we had to nitpick, it could benefit from a few more wires for even greater efficiency.
