Sadly the last week has come in my Muy Bueno cook book journey, It’s been fun and I can guarantee this will not be the last recipe you’ll see on Foodness Gracious from Yvette, Veronica and Evangelina’s book. It’s not very often you’ll see a drink post on here but I thought one would be appropriate today, toasting the three sisters who brought us these traditional family recipes with love and passion. This Chelada Beer Recipe is simple to make but perfect for our perplexing ninety degree October heat. An ice cold Dos Equis is mixed with a quarter cup of fresh lime juice, poured over ice and sucked through a salty rim. The perfect poor mans margarita….
This book is not only about food but it also invites the reader to discover where and why a certain recipe was chosen for the book. The sisters from El Paso Texas, take you back in time to when they were children and what they were served by their mother and grandmother. From appetizers like bacon wrapped shrimp with jalapeno’s and Mexican chorizo and cheese dip. Entrees like chicken tinga, beef brisket tacos and stacked red enchiladas are only a tiny few of the flavorsome recipes hiding in this book of kitchen pleasure!
The lucky winner will be picked by Random.Org. The contest will end at 11pm PST on October 10th. The winner will be given 24 hours to reply, if not another number will be chosen
The lucky winner is Camilla Mann!!
