Recipe insights & TIPS

Nothing says summer like a light salad that is bursting with flavor and full of seasonal fruit.  This Raspberry Dijon Vinaigrette dressing makes the perfect creamy addition to your salad.

This salad dressing needs to be on your short list once the weather starts to warm up (or if you live in a climate where it’s always warm!).

Why You’ll Love This - That One Thing

What’s the number one thing you will love about this Raspberry Dijon Vinaigrette?  One word: versatility.  If you want more tanginess, add some more dijon mustard.

If you want more sweet, add more raspberries or sugar.  If you want it more creamy, add some additional sour cream.  The options don’t stop!  To add even more versatility, this is not just for salads.  Use it as a fruit dip or even as a marinade for meat on the grill.

Ingredients You’ll Need - Quick Snapshot

Here are the ingredients you will need (see quantities below):

  • Vegetable Oil - Makes a great foundation for the vinaigrette
  • White Wine Vinegar - I still hate the smell, but it just adds so much!
  • Sour Cream - Bring on the creaminess
  • Dijon Mustard - Just the right amount of tang
  • Sugar - Balances the tanginess with the sweet
  • Raspberries - The best fruit on the planet (in my opinion)

The Process

It doesn’t get any easier than this.  Gather all of the ingredients, and be ready for the easiest and fastest preparation time ever.

Place all of the ingredients in a blender in whatever order you prefer.

Pour the Raspberry Dijon Vinaigrette from the blender and it is ready to be used for salad dressing, fruit dips or as a marinade for chicken or beef.

We used it on a salad with a bed of lettuce and a variety of fruit including blueberries, grapes and strawberries.

Would I have changed it?

I love the tanginess from the dijon mustard, and I think I would have used a little additional mustard, but that is a personal preference.

Did You Know

Why are raspberries so good for you?

Oh, the delightful wonders of raspberries!  These tiny, vibrant berries are like little bursts of happiness in your mouth, and they come packed with a truckload of health benefits.

So, sit back, relax, and prepare to have your taste buds tantalized and your health elevated.

First and foremost, raspberries are a nutritional powerhouse. They are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that can give Superman a run for his money.

These little gems are chock-full of vitamin C, which boosts your immune system and helps keep those pesky colds at bay. Plus, they're rich in manganese, which is essential for healthy bones and metabolism. Talk about a tasty way to keep your body in top shape!

Raspberries are also a fantastic source of dietary fiber. Now, I know what you're thinking, "Fiber, really? How exciting!" Well, fiber is your digestive system's best buddy.

It keeps things moving smoothly, promotes a healthy gut, and can even help control your cholesterol levels. So, if you ever find yourself in a fruity dilemma, just grab a handful of raspberries, and your tummy will thank you.

Did you know that raspberries are so low in calories that you could practically eat them by the bucketful without batting an eyelash? Okay, maybe not a whole bucket, but you get the point.

These little guys are a dieter's dream come true. They are naturally sweet, yet they won't sabotage your efforts to fit into those skinny jeans. So, indulge guilt-free and revel in the fact that you're treating yourself while staying on track.

Now, let's talk about their vibrant color. Those gorgeous red hues are not just pleasing to the eye; they're a sign of their antioxidant power.

Antioxidants are like your body's personal superheroes, fighting off those pesky free radicals that can damage your cells and contribute to aging and disease. So, each time you pop a raspberry into your mouth, you're basically unleashing a team of tiny crime-fighters that help keep your body in tip-top shape.

Last but certainly not least, raspberries are simply a delight to eat. Their burst of tangy-sweet flavor is like a party in your mouth.

Whether you're enjoying them on their own, blending them into a smoothie, or sprinkling them over your morning cereal, raspberries bring joy to every bite. And we all know that a happy tummy is a healthy tummy.

If you're looking for a delicious way to boost your health, look no further than raspberries. They're a delightful treat that not only satisfies your taste buds but also nourishes your body from the inside out.

It's like Mother Nature's way of saying, "Hey, I've got your back." So go ahead, grab a handful, and let the raspberry revolution begin!
