Refreshing iced coffee with vanilla almond milk and cardamom.

I don't usually buy iced coffee, but I do buy a lot of hot coffee. Like probably way too much. Yup, I'm the guy sipping on some boiling hot french roast no matter how hot the weather is.

My mom used to tell me the best thing to quench a thirst was a cup of tea. Maybe that was an old wives tale though.

I can't see myself switching to iced coffee for good, even though I had some recently and I liked it way more than I thought I would have. What's happening to me?

I've also noticed a bunch of different cold brew coffee brands in the regular grocery store, it's become artisanal and kinda hip to be drinking iced coffee. And at my age, you can never be too hip though my daughter might disagree.

Making homemade iced coffee is so easy and can save you some dollars at the coffee shop.

You can buy one of those pre-made cold brews and use it as a base for this drink, or you could just make a carafe of your own coffee and keep it in the fridge overnight. Next day you're ready to go.

I always use the french press method, because that's what gives me a really strong brew. I don't normally drink almond milk either but I'm all for trying new things so I bought some vanilla almond milk and added agave and cardamom.

I was well impressed by how it ended up tasting...and saved myself $5 at the drive-thru. The almond milk is also vegan and dairy free, neither of which I am but I loved the taste!

This isn't one of those iced coffee's with multiple pumps of syrup so it's not too sweet. The agave does a good job of balancing the coffee with the almond milk.

Will I switch to only iced coffee through the summer? No way, I like my hot stuff way to much but I'll be trying it more often.

I added vanilla almond milk and cardamom to the iced coffee and it was amazing!
